Animal Farm: Old Major the Pig

In the book Animal Farm, one of the most important characters is a pig named Old Major. He's an elder who never speaks much, but when he does everyone listens. In chapter one he talks to the other animals about a dream of his about a "perfect" world where humans didn't rule and animals had freedom. Before his dream he also talked about the human race and how they make animal's lives miserable by putting them on the farm. To me this is insane because I personally believe that by putting animals on a farm it protects them and nourishes them. To establish this idea: when we put animals on farms it's protects them from all predators but themselves and each other. Also the farmers feed them every day to fatten them up for Thanksgiving. Even though we do eat them I'd say they've got it pretty good (considering the fact that they don't know why they're getting fat). Based on the story Old Major is the smart one and all the animals trust him.

  1. This was pretty good, man. By the way, I would've never guessed it was about a pig...
