The End of Animal Farm

After I finished the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, I uttered the words "Boy that was a dumb book". I'm not a book person at all but even still it was a terrible book. I thought the ending was kind of sudden and disappointing. Also the main plot was kind of boring and all over. I realize that it was based off of real life events but I would rather read the actual story about Stalin, Trotsky and whatnot. I thought the death of Boxer really brought the story down. After he die, all the animals were sad and depressed through the end. Boxer was the only thing keeping the story alive for me so all in all the book was bad.

Animal Farm: Old Major the Pig

In the book Animal Farm, one of the most important characters is a pig named Old Major. He's an elder who never speaks much, but when he does everyone listens. In chapter one he talks to the other animals about a dream of his about a "perfect" world where humans didn't rule and animals had freedom. Before his dream he also talked about the human race and how they make animal's lives miserable by putting them on the farm. To me this is insane because I personally believe that by putting animals on a farm it protects them and nourishes them. To establish this idea: when we put animals on farms it's protects them from all predators but themselves and each other. Also the farmers feed them every day to fatten them up for Thanksgiving. Even though we do eat them I'd say they've got it pretty good (considering the fact that they don't know why they're getting fat). Based on the story Old Major is the smart one and all the animals trust him.

What is Power

Power is a term we use that means to have control over. No matter who you are, someone or something has power over you. It could be your parents, your spouse, your T.V. and so on. How is that possible you might ask? Well say you're at work or school all day and you come home, the first thing you might do is reach for the T.V. remote. Yes, it's true the T.V. has power over you if that's the case. If you doubt it try thinking about what you're thinking about and it's probably the T.V. show that's on tonight. Power can also be with humans. Such as your spouse, like if you come home and your spouse says go do something, even though you might have loads of work to do you might be so over powered you don't even think about it. To conclude, everybody has someone or something powering you.

Why Do People Use Drugs?

According to a 2001 survey, ages 12 and up, 15.9 million Americans had used an illegal drug in the last month. This of course is a very scary survey but you know what they say "there's a reason for every thing". To others, the reason people use drugs is they are depressed or they’re pressured into it, but it’s because of parental influence.

It’s hard to say what exactly causes the use of drugs, but we can narrow it down, to at least get an idea. For instance, a commonly stated reason is depression. Being depressed, some may use drugs to relieve stress or pain, which does make sense. Others use them just because “its cool” or they were pressured into using them. Some get bored and go out to find a drug dealer to flee from boredom. Which is another common reason for the usage of drugs.

Although there are many reasons, the main reason for drug usage is parental influence. To elaborate, a lot of adults these days use drugs, and when they have kids, that temptation or influence is naturally there. Children look up to their parents, and if they’re doing drugs the kids assume that it’s “the right thing to do” because “their parents would never do anything wrong”. This will cause problems because if the parents don't care at all, then the kids will just give in without any thought involved and before you know it they're addicted. Even though most surveys say that depression or peer pressure is the main cause, I believe that if the parents use drugs then the child will either just grab a bottle from the fridge or when they are pressured it'll be easier to say yes because their parents did and "Heck, why would they care!?".

To be knowledgeable of this information is essential because if we can control our influence over our children, the future will be looking up! To summarize, even with peer pressure and boredom (etc.) playing a part, parental influence is the main cause for drug use.

Why do Catholics and Protestants have such a great disagreement?

First of all, Catholics and Protestants are different, yes, but they do have, in ways, have similar beliefs. And yet still seem to have such a strong disagreement on a lot of stuff. To begin this discussion Catholics and Protestants started feuding for reasons of plenty. Some reasons came from history. The reasons beginning at just causal disagreements while conversing all the way to murders. There's also things like saying the pope is the Beast of Revelation and Roman Catholicism as Mystery Babylon are still common among Protestants. Even with historical reasons for feuding there's always are humanistic qualities getting in the way about who's right and who's wrong. Who is right and wrong you say? . . . . . . . Can't say. I guess we'll all just figure it out in the end!

(Any way,) Catholics and Protestants also have disagreements about the church. Such as, Protestants think Roman Catholics teach a works - gospel that can't save you. Whereas, Roman Catholics think Protestants only have to express a certain amount of emotion to get saved. Another disagreement is that Protestants blame Catholics for worshipping Mary but Catholics think Protestants are to dumb to understand the importance in this action. Besides disagreeing over who to worship, to pray to, etc. the authority to rule stands alone in argument. Although each religion has its own final decision on who has authority on the church, each indiviual Catholic and Protestant has their own say on the matter.

Well that just about wraps up what I've got to say on the matter. Check out this site to learn more.

Why Don't People of Different Religions Co-Exist?

Two religions that generally don' t co-exist are the Islamic faith and Judaism. To begin, not all Muslims hate Jews and not all Jews hate Muslims but historically Jews are descendants of Abraham's son Isaac and Arabs are descendants of Abraham's son Ishmael. And Biblically Isaac an Ishmael didn't have a good relationship. Ishmael was the son of a slave woman and Isaac was the promised son who would receive the blessing from Abraham. So from the start the two were in disagreement. Later on as the religions holy books were written there was still disagreement on who was the promised son. The Hebrew Scriptures say it was Isaac. The Qur'an says it was Ishmael. Also in the Muslims holy book, the Qur'an, it tells Muslims that at one time they should love and respect Jews as their brother and if the Jews refuse to convert to Islam then the Muslims should attach. Which if you're a strong Jew and you come in contact with a Muslim and you don't convert it would honestly be a very scary thing. All these things show the non-co-existence of Muslims and Jews and there is still more check out this site for previous and additional information.
